Franglais Deliveries Terms & Conditions


Our quotation unless otherwise stated does not include customs, duties, inspections or any other fees or taxes payable to any statutory body.  Any such duties or fees will be payable by you in addition to the price stated in the quotation.

We reserve the right to amend the price stated in the quotation to take account of changes of circumstances which were not taken into account when preparing our quotation and are confirmed by us in writing.   Such factors may include the following:-

where the work is not carried out or completed within 3 months of the date stated in the quotation;
increased costs resulting from currency fluctuations or changes in taxation or freight charges;
we have to collect or deliver goods at your request above the ground floor and first upper floor;
we supply any additional services;
the work is carried out outside of normal business hours (between 8.00am and 6.00pm) at your request;
we are required to provide additional services not included within the quotation, including the moving or storing of extra goods;
we are unable to obtain access to the delivery or collection point or such accesses inadequate or inappropriate for our vehicles;
we have to pay parking or other charges; or
there are delays or events outside our reasonable control which increase the cost or resources required to complete the work.

 Additional Work

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the following is not included within the quotation:-

Parking must be arranged by you and it is your responsibility to ensure that parking is available. Any parking fines must be paid by you at the time of the job.

An extra payment of £8 (amount subject to change) required if travelling through the UK congestion charge.

 50% of fixed price is payable at time of booking (this is non-refundable) and balance to be paid on delivery either by cash or cheque.

 Job arrival times are estimated. Although we do our best to be on time, circumstances out of our control may cause delays.  We reserve the right to reschedule any bookings made due to hazardous or unsafe weather conditions. This may come with an additional fee depending on the date of the rescheduled booking.

 We reserve the right to refuse removal of items from parts of premises which, in our opinion, constitute a health and safety risk to ourselves or other persons.

 If we conclude that the work cannot be carried out without damage to property or possessions but you (the client) wish for the work to be undertaken you take full responsibility for the damage.

We will not under any circumstances remove any items that require plumbing or any other form of professional disconnection. All items you wish to be removed must be disconnected prior to the move.

The total weight of any full load should not exceed 1100kg. Should this be exceeded and penalties incurred from the authorities, you will be liable to pay the penalty in full.

GIT insurance claims are subject to a non-refundable excess of €250.00 payable at beginning of the claim. 

Insurance is included in the price and it is quoted for goods in transit only. We will only cover items while in transit and not any damages inside the property. Should you need further cover for your move, please contact an insurance broker and obtain appropriate insurance cover. Please note that the contents of owner packed boxes are not insured. This is because we cannot verify the contents of the box or the condition or the quality of packing. 

No cover is in place if the goods are transhipped to another supplier. At the moment of handover of goods, they become their responsibility and subject to their insurance. 

You must notify us of any visible loss, damage or failure to produce any goods at the time of delivery, as we accept no responsibility for loss or damage to property after a job is complete, once payment is received and we have left the premises.

Cancellation: If you postpone or cancel within 14 days of the date of the job you will be charged the booking fee plus 25% of full value of the job (the minimum charge). Cancellation within 48 hours of job date requires 100% of the job fee to be payable.

We will be flexible as possible if a reschedule of job is required, however this may incur charges if other parties are involved.
